Peace Silver Dollars
The US Mint struck Peace dollars from 1921 to 1928. Then again in 1934 and 1935, beginning again in 2021.
The coin was supposed to represent Peace following WWI. The Face of the coin is the Goddess of Liberty. The reverse is the depiction of the American Bald Eagle holding the olive branch of peace.. The Legend reads “Peace”. The Peace Dollar was the last circulated dollar coin in the US.
In 1965, the Denver mint struck over 316,000 Peace dollars dated 1964. They were never issued and ended up being melted down.
