These US $5 gold pieces were minted were minted from 1908 through 1929, Interestingly enough, these coins have the image cut into the coin instead of raised. However, there are raised mintmarks on a few issues.
Also, the 1909-O and 1929, are the rarest coins in this series. And, its estimated only 200 coins survived the God Confiscation Act of 1933. It seems the rest were never released and melted down.
Also, uncirculated Indian half eagles are rare. Unless you are looking for a 1909 D or a 1908. And, it is very difficult to find these coins in MS64 or better condition.
